It was a little uncomfortable when the person doing my cleaning is not a regular employee and doesn't get to know how things work before she gets a patient. Didn't know how to operate the water in the sink or how to raise the chair. Hasseled and insulted by front office staff about payment. Good dental care but experience ruined by staff member who didn't listen to what I was saying and responded without looking at payment history and facts about how much is actually being paid. Need to train front office on etiquette, ways to talk with patients, and having all facts straight before saying certain things, if you want them to keep coming back. I was very comfortable with the Doctor and everyone I was involved with. I'm sure I made a good choice. Everyone was very knowledgeable and was very professional in their field. On my last visit to Modesto Dentistry I learned that I had a gum infection in my lower right quadrant. I was asked to make an appointment at Crestal Health Periodontics the following day. The earliest appointment I could arrange for was in three weeks, and that was only for an evaluation . I assume I would have to wait another two weeks for anything to be done about my infection. Staff was very helpful and reassuring; they used language that was easy to understand; very pleasant experience. I travel 40 miles from Monson, 80 mile round trip. I use a quarter tank of gas and have to get up extra early to make my appointment. Not to mention toll charges. I am sorry for Ian's accident and his inability to replace temp filling, but I would have rathered he call and make the appointment for when he could have fillded it. Modestow Family Dentistry is professional and modern. Staff are friendly and competent. They are transitioning to the electronic medical record. I would recommend having a cubby created for completing health care information that is a little more private. Very short wait time, friendly service. I think $52 for an evaluation that could not have taken more than 5 minutes something of an overcharge. For that matter, I think $43 for applying fluoride varnish is also higher than it needs to be. Had to be exposed to two sets of panoramic x-rays since the first set had to be repeated for some reason. Otherwise typically good cleaning and exam.
