I was referred to Dr. Awalt for wisdom tooth extractions. I had a great consultation with her and the oral surgery was scheduled quickly. She was very polite and explained the after care process to me, prior to leaving after the extractions were completed. I would highly recommend her. The office staff was very kind and helpful. All around great experience!!
I have had a toothache for about 3 weeks. Over this past weekend, the tooth cracked in half; suffice it to say it was painful! I called around in search of an emergency oral surgeon. No luck. A colleague referred me to Dr. Awalt, so I sent her a text. Not only did she respond within 5 minutes, but she encouraged me to call her office at 8 am on Monday morning…today, and they would get me in—they did at 9:45 am! Dr. Awalt takes time to listen to your needs and gives wonderful care. I had to have a procedure that I was nervous about but she did such a great job and I didn’t feel a thing! I highly recommend Dr. Awalt.
Our 8 year-old daughter recently had surgery to remove two extra teeth in a tricky spot. Our experience was fabulous and we are so happy we waited to see Dr. Awalt. When children have good experiences, they become confident for future procedures as they get older. We will recommend Dr. Awalt to anyone needing oral care. Her knowledge, skills and professionalism are top notch. We are grateful we received this recommendation from our orthodontist. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We'll be back for the wisdom teeth.
This is just an FYI if you are looking for an oral/maxillofacial surgeon. I was referred to Dr. Awalt by my dentist, but when I called, her receptionist told me that they did not accept any medical insurance. I needed a biopsy and resolution of a cyst in my gums. And was told that that falls under medical insurance instead of dental. I then called a different oral/maxillofacial office. They did accept medical insurance but told me that for cysts, they refer patients to the University of Maryland faculty practice. I saw ... read more
