No complaints with Dr. Monfette. He is a skilled, thoughtful, compassionate and quite competent dentist. He referred me to a colleague for implant work which went very well. He, like many other professionals, has struggled to keep office help because of great difficulty in finding staff who can afford to live here. I have always felt my concerns, questions and comments have been heard and my opinions respected. After being a patient with Dr. Scheier for 30 years, I was told the staff would need to decide if they would schedule me for another appointment because I had missed appointments. I missed the appointments because I was taking care of my husband who was dying from brain cancer. I was deeply offended and am now looking for a new dentist.
I was told I have to start paying upfront for all services according to the new practice policy, even though I have dental insurance. I have been with this practice for 7 years. They Refused to release my records until I pay the full amount for my cleaning I had in January. I checked with my insurance and the cleaning was fully paid for by my insurance.
A very scattered hygienist cleaned my teeth and didn’t even scrape the plaque off. Somehow took an hour. The receptionist can’t understand anything you say & is too lazy to look at paperwork you send for any information so you have to painstakingly tell her everything. Also the dentist has no bedside manner and is very unfriendly.
Had 2 crowns done not at the same time. Both crowns failed in less than 2 years, through no fault of my own (confirmed by 2 other dentists). Very expensive failures.
Dr. Monfette was unusually expensive and missed my cavity. I would never return to this practice.
